The 2021 Grammy Nominations Are Here

The 63nd Grammy Award nominations were announced on Tuesday afternoon at a ceremony featuring Dua Lipa, Imogen Heap, Lauren Daigle, Mickey Guyton, Yemi Alade, Nicole Benedetti, Pepe Aguilar, Sharon Osbourne, and interim Recording Academy president Harvey Mason, Jr. Unsurprisingly, 2020 shaped up to be another banner year for Beyoncé, as well as Taylor Swift, Lipa and a host of other hitmakers.

Beyoncé, already the proud owner of more than two dozen Grammys, was nominated for Record of the Year for “Welcome to the Black Parade” as well as Song of the Year, Best R&B Performance, Best R&B Song, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song and Best Music Film. Taylor Swift’s “Folklore” is a major contender for Album of the Year, and Lipa’s “Don’t Start Now” will be pitted against Swift’s “Cardigan” in the Song of the Year category.

“The Box” apper Roddy Ricch scored six nominations this year, including one for Song of the Year; meanwhile, Billie Eilish, who took home the night’s top awards last year, walked away with four nominations, including Record and Song of the Year for “Everything I Wanted.” Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, Chika and Phoebe Bridgers were all represented in the Best New Artist category, and Doja Cat was also named in the Record of the Year category for her viral hit “Say So.”

It’s unclear exactly what a pandemic-era Grammys will look like, but we’ll find out when The Daily Show comedian Trevor Noah hosts the show on January 31.
